Junk Food and Your Ex – Which is more toxic?

Junk Food and Your Ex – Which is more toxic?

First off, I know from experience divorce and breakups are not something that you take lightly. It’s painful, shameful and almost always costly, emotionally and financially.

But like so many other things that are hurtful and hard in life sometimes all you can do is poke a little light-hearted fun at it.

So, with that in mind.

Here’s why breaking up with junk food is like breaking up with your significant other. Firstly, you know when you’re done. It’s never just one thing, is it? It builds, usually with something being the final straw.

There are feelings of shame and guilt. That feeling in the pit of your stomach, the rumbling, that little bit of nausea, a taste in your mouth, just yuck.

Divorce = How could I let myself be treated like that for so long, I must be disgusting… Junk food = I can’t believe I let myself eat that whole packet of Tim Tams, I am disgusting…

You blame yourself, question yourself, you feel ALL the emotions and it is hard to see how your life could be without them or it. Secondly, you have to deal with feelings of separation. At the start, you just can’t stop thinking about it/them. All of a sudden, it’s/they’re everywhere.

The photos on the wall at home, the chocolates at the register at the supermarket. You feel yourself thinking about it all the time, wondering ‘was it that bad? I mean we had some good times didn’t we?’

But here’s the thing, that’s your brain trying to trick you and make you feel better. To get the dopamine hit from the positive emotions, and the sugar hit that replicates the dopamine in your brain.

I’m not even going to go into how naughty your brain is at times. I just want you to remember this…

It was never going to last forever. And neither will the pain. The first few weeks, you will think about it daily. After a month, certain things remind you and trigger you every so often and then three months down the track, it only comes up when somebody else mentions it.

But I guarantee you, a year down the track you’ll be asking yourself, what was I thinking? Why would I do that to myself?

So, if you’re ready to break up with junk food, just like your toxic partner (frankly, I don’t know which is worse for your long term health) send me a PM and we can get you started on the journey back to a healthy you!

The magic phrase to help your hormonal kids…

The magic phrase to help your hormonal kids…

    December 03, 2025

Okay, I am not going to give you some ninja strategy about talking to your kids about their hormones.

I am not qualified to give you that sort of advice, but I do have something I can give you. A secret that myself and my clients use and have used for over ten years to soothe that annoying and angry teenage hormone beast.

Are you ready? Get a pen… Okay, here it is… ‘Here, eat this!’ (and give them something to eat) I can see your eyeballs rolling from here but stay with me for just a second.

Advertising for menopause treatments (which is at the other end of the hormone spectrum) always included nutrition guidelines.

So why is it not included in guides for hormonal, pimply, often taller than you, two-year-old style tantrum-throwing teens?

What we put in their mouths is going to help them from the inside out. And yes, I know that they might eat junk at school or on the way home but if you are in control of the food that is available for them in the morning and at night, then you have a much better chance of helping to regulate their moods with food.

I could go into the science but for most of you, you know yourself when you eat better you feel better.

You know the cravings you have when you are hormonal, and you know what happens when you give in to those cravings and feed the hormonal monster sugar…

And yes, I know that cooking for the whole family and making sure that there is always healthy foods and snacks on hand can be a challenge. I know you might think, well they are old enough to cook for themselves.

    But here is the thing.

I still cook for my teens because even though I don’t particularly enjoy cooking, I enjoy having to deal with moody teenagers even less!

To find out how I can help you to create healthy and delicious meals that the whole family will love, PM me to hear about the scientifically proven nutritional program I use to help my clients get amazing results and keep their teenage hormone monsters at bay (as best as we can)!!

‘He’s a shift worker who literally seats down for 10 hours a day’

‘He’s a shift worker who literally seats down for 10 hours a day’

      December 3, 2025

      Meet Tas.

Tas has been a genuine gift to the It’s Personal community and me personally. And aside from his bad taste in music, he’s an absolute gem.

But when he first came to the community, he wasn’t convinced the program would work. ‘I’m a shift worker’ he explained ‘…a bus driver, I literally sit down every single day to do my job. I can’t walk around; I can’t have breaks whenever I feel like it; I have to be on schedule, otherwise, everybody else is off schedule.’

‘I really don’t know how I’m going to be able to fit a bunch of exercise into my day.’ Once he realised that he was only going to be exercising for about four hours a week, he was so relieved. At the start he was unsure he was doing enough, but soon the results started to speak for themselves.

‘But I don’t want to drink potions and lotions. I’m a Greek boy, I need to eat my food. I don’t want to suck it down a straw, like an 80-year old YaiYa with no teeth does.’

Well, imagine his surprise when he learnt how to easily eat metabolically precise, nutritious, flavoursome, stomach-filling food.

Now he is the king of the kitchen, showing off his culinary talents to the rest of the community.

But listen, I can’t take all the credit.

I mean he did the work, but he also lives in a household of love with two of my wonderful clients. This is a family thing and a way of life for these beautiful people.

So, join me in congratulating Tas on his outstanding efforts.

I know your journey isn’t done yet Tas but it has been a pleasure to watch so far, you have inspired so many people, some you haven’t met face to face yet either.

The dreaded ‘Why are you not drinking question?’

The dreaded ‘Why are you not drinking question?’

        December 3, 2025

At events I attend each and every year without fail I get asked why ‘I’m choosing not to drink alcohol?’

How do I avoid the awkward questions about not drinking?

You might make a choice not to drink alcohol because you don’t want the calories, maybe you’re the designated driver, or you are just not that into it.

Frankly, it doesn’t matter to me what your decision is, I just want to help you get around it because I know myself, the awkwardness of getting asked.

So here are the top two tips from myself and my clients:

Kombucha mini bottles in a stubby holder. Stubby holders, such an Aussie thing. I love them, they keep your drinks cool and for this purpose, hide the label of what you are drinking. As for kombucha, it’s what myself and my clients drink because it gives you some sweetness and it’s good for the gut. But don’t ever do a six-pack or else you won’t be invited to any parties because it can make you a little bit gassy!

The other option… Soda water and lime.

Cut up a lime and throw it in a short glass with some soda water. It looks like you’re having a spirit #somature.

And if anybody asks what you are drinking you can tell them whatever you like, or tell them the reasons you’re not drinking. In my experience, if you look like you’re drinking, then nobody’s going to ask anyway. You can tell people to mind their own business. Or you can ignore it.

Me, I like to just skip the awkward questions and instead bask in the glory of them telling you how fabulous you look!

So, if you are ready to get results that get talked up at events, remember it is a lifestyle, that still includes, restaurants, social events, parties because I never miss out, then send me an email or PM today.

What happens on week 13 of a 12-week challenge?

What happens on week 13 of a 12-week challenge?

          December 3, 2025

Summer is around the corner, which means almost every gym or fitness studio are offering a 12-week challenge to get in shape for summer.

And look, I know for some people it’s a great time frame to get their fitness back on track.

I know you can get a great start with the 12-weeks. You will definitely feel better, you’ll even start to see the changes in your body yourself, not just on the scales.

But I wonder what happens on week 13?

Do you continue on for another round? Are you transformed for life?

What I see is a lot of bounce back weight gain. People become so strict in the 12 weeks to lose as much weight as possible, they can’t possibly enjoy it.

It was like punishment. And the flip side of punishment? Rewards.

So they reward themselves for doing a good job, for a job done right. But they overdo it and binge out. Gaining the weight back they worked so hard to lose, often more than a third comes back in the first 10 days.

When you choose to transform, you need to make a conscious decision that you will make this for life. A long-lasting, ongoing change for the better.

Yes, we do work in 12-week blocks (because I work within the school terms for clients and its an easy to follow calendar) but it is never one 12-week block, it’s the first building block to begin your transformation.

Find out how you can set yourself up on the next block of your life, email or PM me for more details now.

Nutritious, fast, delicious and healthy – 5 simple things you can do with mince meat to spice up your weekly meals.

Nutritious, fast, delicious and healthy – 5 simple things you can do with mince meat to spice up your weekly meals.

            December 3, 2025

Like so many of my clients I have kids and I work full time, so I have to be efficient when it comes to what I spend my time doing, especially as I have four people to feed.

One of the biggest reasons that people tell me they can’t eat well is because they don’t have time to cook fancy meals. And they say they don’t want to get bored with what they eat or have to eat the same thing each and every day.

Whilst I can’t help you find more time in the day (I wish) I can tell you what my busy clients and I do to stay on track with nutrition, 25 minutes or less, even if you are not good at cooking!

Because it is pretty easy, once you know how. Ready?

Let me show you. Each week I buy 6 different types of meat. This gives us a different dinner every night, maybe a repeater once for me, but the kids are out maybe a Friday or Saturday and may not eat at home, so six is all I need.

            Here is what I get:

            • Chicken (tenderloins)
            • Beef (mince)
            • Lamb (diced)
            • Beef Steak
            • Pork (diced)
            • Fish, skin off preferred

And for each of these meats/ cuts I do one different super simple, but oh so delicious, recipe.

            Take beef mince.

            1. Just add garlic, carrots and pasta, you have bolognese, just pop on top of veggies and you are done.
            2. Perhaps with the basic bolognese you can throw in some black beans and some Mexican spices and you have chilli con carne.
            3. Maybe you might like to turn your mince into meatballs with a salad or roasted veggies.
            4. Or just flatten the meatballs out and you have hamburger patties.
            5. Want a winter warmer, go for shepherds pie, which is a few extra things to your basic bolognese, with a mashed cauliflower topping rather than potato mash.

             See what I mean?

That is 5 simple things you don’t really even have to follow a recipe for, that you can do with beef mince.

Easy, 6 different meats/cuts, 5 different super fast recipes, 4 weeks to the month!

Want to discover how easy it can be to create nutritious, fast, delicious and healthy meals for yourself (and your family) even if you haven’t cooked before.

Send me a message and I can fill you in on our proven nutrition program.

‘I don’t care about the scales, I care about being strong enough to pick up my growing grandkids’

It is many parent’s dreams to hold the babies of their babies, right. But for so many people, especially over the age of 50 being able to pick up a 3-year-old or keep up with a 5-year-old is going to be a huge challenge physically.
